Breaking point?

BY MILLISA NWOKOLO

In the past, I would just throw myself on the floor deeply concerned about how I was going to pay the rent, the gas bill, and the electricity. Sometimes all 3 of them looming over my head at disconnect level.

I felt like I was the debt collector juggler every week; which one can I live without?, which one do I need to sort out immediately?

The seasons of winter and summer determine which one, most of the time. Yet, here I am, a woman whom God has helped, the bills get paid as when due, with much more ease than in the past. God in His time makes everything better. Amen!

It was in those painful breaking points, that I felt hopeless and no vision to see a way out of the circle that I knew. This hamster wheel of life kept me from really seeing my start-up business for the future it could have.

Recently, I asked a BIG freight brokerage firm, "What was your turning point when you could see your business for what it really is?".

In the bible, Abram lost Lot, his supporter whom he loved. He might have felt alone, unsure of the future. Yet, God says, "After Lot had gone, the LORD said to Abram, "Look as far as you can see in every direction- north and south, east and west. I am giving all this land, as far as you can see, to you and your descendants as a permanent possession. And I will give you so many descendants that, like the dust of the earth, they cannot be counted! Go and walk through the land in every direction, for I am giving it to you." Genesis 13:14-17 NLT

Deep inside of me, I already knew the answer to what kept me captive for so many years, captive to only seeing failure, where others go through breaking pain points of growth and see Vision and Purpose.

I want you to fight the blindness of your circumstances. I will share with you some of the turning points, that helped me to develop Vision and Purpose.

How to develop Vision and Purpose.

Seeing beyond Paralysis: In Philipines 3:8 NIV, it might be confusing at first. It is when you take out the garbage, mentally that is. Stop looking at your past achievements or failures. If something is looming over you, allow your mind to daydream about the details of your bright future. Let's say that you want to have Steel America as a client, you imagine your first call, their approval, and your life begins to change as you fulfill all the services you both agreed upon with the greatest expectation.

Consistency of Vision: Your vision needs you every day, it needs you to show up and visualizing not the gains so much, but your view of the light breaking through. I want you to focus on yourself smiling, relaxed and confident pressing toward your goals. Remember, you are in control of your actions, as you write your To-Do List, visualize yourself crossing off those tasks that are getting you one step closer to the Vision you have before you.

Practice a lot: Visualizing is hard, and it will take time. Keep doing it. Before you retire your day, rewrite your steps and goals. The next morning, practice seeing the steps and goals, the image, as you become better at visualizing - you will begin to feel, hear, and smell it. Even if you think it isn't working, stay with it; your future needs you to SEE beyond the losses of your past and see the breakthrough light. Remember this -

"You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Matthew 5:14
